Woodland: The Saltwater Crisis

CBU Special Mention

In Woodland, a breach in the New Cut Channel lets the Gulf of Paria push saltwater inland, flooding farms and homes and poisoning the soil. Kalain reports on the residents caught between river and sea, and on the US$10M Adaptation Fund project racing to make the South Oropouche basin resilient to sea-level rise.
